Amalgamation of Jessie Gillett Court and James Thomas Court

Over recent years there has been a sustained decline in demand for low care beds across Ballarat Health Services, consistent with a trend for low care in general. As a result we have decided to amalgamate Jessie Gillett and James Thomas into one 44 bed facility. James Thomas Court will be the location of the amalgamated facility. (more…)

Electronic discharges from BHS ED now live

Months of work to enable sending electronic discharge summaries from BOSSnet is now complete. Sending discharge summaries via Argus or auto fax is working as expected. Once electronic discharge summaries have been bedded down in Emergency, we will roll out this functionality to Inpatient and Outpatient communication. (more…)

BHS to study post-partum pain

Previous literature reports chronic pain persisting after delivery in 4-10% of vaginal deliveries, and 12-18% of Caesarian deliveries. This potentially presents a significant burden to the community, given the frequency of the childbirth process as well as the young, active population affected. (more…)
