Both clinics I have called today have such specifics eg. If you're new to town then you have no idea where the locations of these practices are and which one may suit your needs. But definitely a good starting point. If I was elderly or disabled the phone line would not meet my needs. Although we have doctors taking on new patients, we sometimes are unable to see new patients for a few days due to lack of appointments, the GP Hotline lets us give patients the option of finding someone without having to ring around every clinic in Ballarat or us memorising who is taking New Patients, It also helps that the patients feels you have been helpful even though you were unable to get them in for an appointment.
