Event: Infection Control - A full course

Margaret is a Microbiologist and an Infection Control Consultant
Session 1: A 4 hour intensive course on Wednesday July 15 11:45 AM – 4 PM
This session is for staff who have had no previous infection control education or for staff requiring a full refresher. The course will cover - introduction to infection control - transmission, basic microbiology, flu, gastro, HepB/C
• Standard and Additional Precautions and correct use of protective wear during pandemic flu
• Hand hygiene, surgery, hand care, correct use of alcohol handrub, correct use of gloves
• Cleaning, linen, toys
• Safe management of body fluid spills
• Waste management and safe sharps management
• Sharps’ injuries and management
• Staff immunization
• Instrument Processing – Need to indicate if this is done onsite or offsite.

A light lunch will be available at 11:45 AM for course attendees.
Please note - A catering fee of $20 per participant will be invoiced to the practice.
